Someone had downvoted every comment correctly saying edited to add. I'm guessing it's because they're thinking about estimated time of arrival, but, in context that makes no fucking sense.

Almost like you shouldn't try to shoehorn pointless acronyms into absolutely everything. If you can't be bothered to write then don't write.

It has not. I feel like I'm being gaslit by people saying this. It's so fucking bizarre.

ETA has ALWAYS meant estimated time of arrival in any context; people have ALWAYS put "edit:" or some variation of for edits on comments here.

It has meant both things for a long time. I used it for both depending on the context

Nobody does, and if they do it's wrong as fuck. Why would you use an ambiguous acronym that already exists for another statement when a perfectly clear and legible 'edit:' has always been used? That's like being stupid on purpose.
