Damn the top comments didn’t understand this joke at alll lol . The joke is that when a woman is in excruciating pain in labor and the guy goes “it’s ok honey you got this!” she often flies into a rageee and starts cussing up a storm “Oh do I “got this” Dave?? you so and so!” 😭 my bestie works in the labor and delivery and she jokes about this kinda thing all the time . The nurse here knows what’s about to come cuz she’s seen some things iykwim. That’s what the joke really is.

Yeah, I was surprised by all the top comments thinking it was a positive reaction.  90s American sitcoms taught me that saying this would cause anger.

Tom Tucker here. The commenters are missing the entire point of the sub.

Yeah that was kinda my first read at this as well! I kinda read "it's okay you got this" as like flippant and even almost dismissive of the ordeal the mom is going through.

Yeah, the original video audio is definitely of the mom hitting the guy after saying that. 😅 the nurse basically says let me mind my business and is busying herself everywhere but there.

Well I don’t see how people would know this because this post isn’t a full video so it just comes off to the nurse looking like she’s shocked which is what I initially thought as well

I wonder if a lot of this is pent up rage at the patriarchy, which women have to suppress every day. Many women are still expected to be subservient to the husband of the household. And when women become most primal, either they are unable to maintain that subservience with all the "thank you honey 😍 you're so kind and wonderful 🙏" and/or, on a subconscious level, this is the only time a woman is "permitted" to completely lose her shit and let all that rage out.

Then, once the baby is out, it's back to the role of peacemaker.
